Not sure I can help you because this is such a specialty, but a chimney made from concrete requires sulfur resist portland and should you have other corrosive emissions in your flue gas stream you might want to consider them should they have a potential of condensing out in the chimney. Murphy

Understood. Here is a short classification of Portland Cements from ASTM. Type V is sulfur resistant. Concrete mix for chimneys may need a little more special attention like Type III is made for structure like a chimney that needs early strengthening to maintaining a rapid pace of chimney construction since cold joints are very undesirable, for once the pour starts interrupting it has to be minimized, My little list should confirm what you already know.

Portland Cement
Classification Purpose
Type I General purpose
Type II Moderate sulfate resistance
Type III High early strength
Type IV Low heat of hydration or slow reacting
Type V High sulfate resistance
White White color

High Sulfite Residual
By: Ross. [390]

First, I want to say that large amounts of Sodium Sulfite NaSO3 becomes a contaminate because it will produce foaming and other problems, but foaming is the primary problem.

Your 500-psi Water Tube Boiler is seems to have reasonable level of residual Sodium Sulfite NaSO3 remaining in the boiler water. Nice pH too.

Your 300-psi Waste Heat Recovery Boiler has twice what I would expect for Sodium Sulfite NaSO3 at ranging 80-ppm to 100-ppm. pH is good so you are getting a good yield.
